Approval can take as little as an hour or sometimes up to a day if we require more information from you. Once your account has been approved you’ll receive an email to let you know and you’re good to go!

You have a choice of 2 membership plans: When you create an account you'll automatically be placed on our free membership, Hop Starter, you can upgrade at any time to Hop Regular which has a monthly membership fee of $10 and gives you lower hourly and daily rates. The cost of renting a Cityhop varies on the car type you book and you are charged for the amount of time you book the car and kilometres travelled. Once you have downloaded the Cityhop App, and registered with your drivers licence and bank card details, you can make a booking.

The Cityhop App allows you to see what is available in your location on the booking screen, or you can search by desired location or vehicle type. Click your date and time to start your scheduled booking.

You can consider the reduced insurance excess before hitting the schedule button.

Booking confirmations are sent via email. Kindly go through the confirmation email, before your booking.

Payments are charged 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Please make sure your payment details are updated to avoid automatic cancellation.

Once the payment has been charged and a specific vehicle has been assigned to your booking you will see an "UNLOCK AND BEGIN" button on your app (5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time).  

You can click on “UNLOCK AND BEGIN” to proceed and do the damage check. Once the damage check has been completed the vehicle will unlock itself.

Once you are inside the vehicle, the keys will be attached near the steering wheel. Please do not take them out of the vehicle. If you're stopping mid-trip, always lock the car using your Cityhop App and leave the car keys inside the vehicle.

We have a range of vehicle types for you to choose from so you can pick a car to suit your needs. We have hatchbacks, SUVs and cargo vans!

Every Cityhop bookings includes free fuel - just use the fuel card found inside our vehicles when you need to top up. Our fuel cards work at any Z Energy, Caltex or Challenge fuel station. Every car should be returned with at least ¼ tank of fuel for the next member. 150 kilometres (150KM) are included free with your booking. Excess kilometres are charged at $0.59 per KM for all vehicles. All Cityhop members have basic insurance included in their membership. Members are responsible for the damage excess (this varies by vehicle type) per incident, which can be reduced by opting for additional insurance that’s charged by the hour/day per booking. Yes, we do. Our business plan gives members the same access to our fleet as a personal account with the added benefit of unlimited additional drivers. Your staff can book vehicles for as little as an hour or as long as they like and input cost codes for each booking. All your usage is wrapped up in one easy to manage invoice that breaks down each driver's activity for the month making it easier for your business to access cars and vans without the hassle of owning or fixed-term lease agreements. Learn more here!
